How to Renew Your Domain Before It Expires

You renew your domain by logging in to your ZIPROF client area, opening the domain's renewal option, and completing payment before the expiry date. Renewing even a few days early avoids any risk of your website or email going offline.

Why Renewing Early Matters

A domain that isn't renewed on time stops working: your website goes down and email tied to that domain stops sending and receiving. Renewing a week or two ahead of the expiry date gives you a buffer in case of payment delays, so you're not racing the clock at the last minute.

Domain renewals are not always instant. MPesa payments can take a few minutes to reflect, and some renewals need to be processed with the registry, so don't wait until the day of expiry to start.

How to Renew Your Domain

  1. Log in to your ZIPROF client area using your account email and password.
  2. Go to the Domains section and select the domain you want to renew.
  3. Click Renew (sometimes shown as Renew Now).
  4. Choose your renewal period, for example one year or two years, then click Add to Cart or Checkout.
  5. Complete payment through MPesa Paybill, using the invoice number generated for the renewal as your Account Number.
  6. Wait for the confirmation email or check your client area to see the updated expiry date.

If you're unsure how to complete the MPesa payment step, the invoice screen shows the exact Paybill Business Number and Account Number to use.

What If Your Domain Has Already Expired?

Most domains aren't deleted the moment they expire. There's usually a grace period during which you can still renew it, though some registries add a restoration fee the longer you wait. The exact timeline depends on the domain extension (for example .com versus .co.ke).

Checking Your Domain's Expiry Date

You can see your domain's current expiry date in the Domains section of your ZIPROF client area, next to the domain name. If you'd like a reminder, note the date somewhere outside your email in case renewal notices land in a spam folder.
