How to Find Your Hosting Server's IP Address and Hostname

Your server's IP address and hostname identify the physical server your hosting account lives on. You'll usually need these when setting up DNS records manually, configuring an app that needs a direct server connection, or troubleshooting with support.

In cPanel

  1. Log in to cPanel.
  2. Look at the General Information panel, usually in the sidebar or under a Server Information link.
  3. Your Shared IP Address and Server Hostname are listed there.

In DirectAdmin

  1. Log in to DirectAdmin.
  2. Open the System Info section from the main menu.
  3. Your server's Hostname and IP Address are shown at the top of the page.

Why You Might Need This

  • Pointing an A record at your registrar directly to the server, instead of using nameservers.
  • Setting up an SSL certificate or a mail client that asks for a server hostname.
  • Confirming with ZIPROF support which physical server your account is on when troubleshooting a connectivity issue.
Most accounts are on shared hosting, meaning several customer accounts share the same IP address. If your application needs a dedicated IP, discuss that with ZIPROF support before relying on the shared IP shown here.
