Your server's IP address and hostname identify the physical server your hosting account lives on. You'll usually need these when setting up DNS records manually, configuring an app that needs a direct server connection, or troubleshooting with support.
In cPanel
- Log in to cPanel.
- Look at the General Information panel, usually in the sidebar or under a Server Information link.
- Your Shared IP Address and Server Hostname are listed there.
In DirectAdmin
- Log in to DirectAdmin.
- Open the System Info section from the main menu.
- Your server's Hostname and IP Address are shown at the top of the page.
Why You Might Need This
- Pointing an A record at your registrar directly to the server, instead of using nameservers.
- Setting up an SSL certificate or a mail client that asks for a server hostname.
- Confirming with ZIPROF support which physical server your account is on when troubleshooting a connectivity issue.
Most accounts are on shared hosting, meaning several customer accounts share the same IP address. If your application needs a dedicated IP, discuss that with ZIPROF support before relying on the shared IP shown here.
