How to Renew Your Hosting Plan Before It Expires

Web hosting runs on a billing cycle, and your plan needs to be renewed before it expires to keep your website, email, and any connected services online. This guide walks you through checking your renewal date and paying for your next hosting term.

How to check when your hosting plan expires

You can see your exact renewal date from your ZIPROF client area at any time, rather than waiting for a reminder email.

  1. Log in to your ZIPROF client area.
  2. Go to Services, then select your hosting product from the list.
  3. Check the Next Due Date field. This is the date your current billing term ends.

ZIPROF also sends renewal reminder emails ahead of your due date, so watch the inbox linked to your account.

How to renew your hosting plan

Renewing means paying the invoice for your next billing term. ZIPROF's primary payment method is MPesa Paybill.

  1. Log in to your ZIPROF client area and go to Invoices.
  2. Open the unpaid invoice for your upcoming hosting renewal and note its invoice number, shown with a ZQ prefix (for example, ZQ1203).
  3. On your phone, open the MPesa menu and select Lipa na MPesa, then Pay Bill.
  4. Enter the ZIPROF Paybill number as the Business Number.
  5. Enter your full invoice number, including the ZQ prefix, as the Account Number.
  6. Enter the invoice amount, then your MPesa PIN, and confirm the payment.
  7. Return to the Invoices page in your client area to confirm the invoice is marked as paid.
Enter your invoice number exactly as it appears on the invoice, ZQ prefix included, as the Account Number. An incorrect or incomplete account number can delay matching your payment to your account.

Renew a few days early

Paying a few days before your due date gives your payment time to be confirmed and avoids any gap in service if there's a delay on your end. It also means you're not renewing under time pressure if you're travelling or unavailable on the exact due date.

What happens if you don't renew in time

If your hosting invoice isn't paid by the due date, your account can move into suspension, which takes your website and email offline until the balance is settled.
