How to Switch Between Monthly and Annual Billing for Your ZIPROF Plan

You can usually switch a ZIPROF service between a monthly and an annual (or other longer) billing cycle from your client area. Many plans work out cheaper per month when billed annually, and switching also means fewer separate MPesa payments to track over the year.

Why Business Owners Switch Billing Cycles

Moving to annual billing is mostly about convenience and cost. A single yearly invoice is easier to plan for than twelve separate ones, and it removes the risk of missing a monthly renewal date by accident. Some customers also switch the other way, from annual back to monthly, if they'd rather spread the cost in smaller amounts.

How to Change Your Billing Cycle in the Client Area

  1. Log in to your ZIPROF client area.
  2. Go to Services and click My Services.
  3. Find the service you want to change and click View Details.
  4. Look under Management Actions for an option such as Change Billing Cycle or Upgrade/Downgrade, which on some plans includes a billing cycle choice.
  5. Select the billing cycle you want (for example, from Monthly to Annually) and confirm the change.
The exact wording and position of this option can vary slightly depending on the type of service and the plan you're on. If you don't see it at all on your service, use the support route below instead.

If You Don't See a "Change Billing Cycle" Option

Not every service exposes a self-service cycle change, especially where the remaining time on your current invoice needs to be manually recalculated. In that case:

  • Open a support ticket from your client area.
  • State clearly which service or domain you want changed, and the billing cycle you'd like (monthly, annually, etc.).
  • ZIPROF support will adjust it and let you know once it's done, along with any adjustment to your next invoice.

See How to Open and Track a Support Ticket in Your ZIPROF Client Area if you haven't raised one before.

What Happens to Your Next Invoice

When a billing cycle changes partway through a term, your next invoice is usually prorated: you're charged (or credited) for the difference between what you already paid and what the new cycle actually costs for the remaining time. This isn't a duplicate charge, it's simply the system settling the difference before your next due date resets to match the new cycle.

Whatever the invoiced amount comes out to, pay it the same way you normally would: via M-Pesa Paybill, using the Paybill business number shown on your invoice as the Business Number, and your full invoice number exactly as it appears on the invoice, including its prefix, e.g. ZQ1203, as the Account Number.

If an invoice amount looks wrong after switching cycles, don't guess, check the figure against How to Read Your ZIPROF Invoice first, and raise a support ticket if it still doesn't add up.
